Wisconsin Cosmetology Laws and Rules
Course Description:
As a cosmetologist, you are probably aware that the recently adopted administrative rule in Wisconsin has created a continuing education (CE) requirement for licensees in the barbering and cosmetology (BAC) professions. In order to qualify for your next license renewal - in 2011 - you must take and complete this CE requirement.
During 2007 and 2008, the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing (DRL) conducted statewide "listening sessions" and a concentrated enforcement initiative into the barbering and cosmetology industry. Unfortunately, in conducting their research, the DRL found "widespread violations, especially in the areas of public health and safety, and little understanding of important rules governing the profession." These findings greatly identified the need for continuing education in the barbering and cosmetology professions - and from that obvious need, the laws, regulations, and course materials you're about to read have been born.
